Amateur to take on Tour de France Femmes challenge

Stage 12 of the Tour de France 2026, finishing in Chalon-sur-Saône, provides sprinters like Biniam Girmay and Jasper Philipsen a final chance for victory before the route shifts towards climbers and rouleurs. Despite 1800m of climbing in the final section, the 179.1km course remains favourable for fast men. Separately, a 54-year-old resident from West Horsley is set to undertake a Tour de France Femmes challenge, cycling a total distance of 1,175km.
