Beach hero tells of attempt to save drowning girl and mum

A couple have shared their experience with the BBC regarding an attempt to rescue a mother and daughter who drowned off an Essex beach. Craig Bowe explained that he heard screams while visiting the coast to celebrate his daughter's birthday. Despite their efforts to save the pair, both the mother and the girl tragically perished. The couple stated that their primary intention during the incident was simply to ensure that the two victims survived.
