Campaigners denied appeal over Gatwick expansion

The Court of Appeal has rejected legal challenges brought by local resident Peter Barclay and the environmental group Communities Against Gatwick Noise Emissions (CAGNE). This ruling allows the expansion project for Gatwick Airport's second runway to proceed. Judges described the application to stop the two-runway operation as unarguable. Consequently, the legal appeals against the expansion have failed for the second time, clearing the way for the airport to begin its planned infrastructure work.
