Cooler conditions on way for parts of UK - but still no rain for drought-hit areas

Following a period of record-breaking temperatures across various parts of England, a cold front is now moving into the UK. While some regions will experience cooler conditions, drought-hit areas remain without rain. Conversely, parts of Scotland are forecast to receive heavy rainfall on Thursday, with some remote locations potentially seeing up to 32mm of precipitation, exceeding one inch, even as other areas of the UK continue to experience the ongoing heatwave conditions.
