Crews finish digging ditches around wildfire

Firefighters have extinguished a wildfire in Shepperton, Surrey, which had spread across 1.5 hectares. To halt the progression of flames and embers, crews dug containment ditches and established fire breaks up to 12m wide. The fire service confirmed that these strategic measures successfully stopped the blaze from spreading further. The operation concluded once the fire was fully extinguished, ensuring the safety of the surrounding area through the creation of these critical defensive barriers.
