Disability benefits not fit for purpose and need bold reform, says Pip review

A new report and review indicate that Personal Independence Payments (PIP) are not fit for purpose and require bold reform. PIP is designed to assist with extra living costs and daily tasks for individuals with long-term mental health conditions, disabilities, or physical health issues. However, the current assessment process is described as dehumanising and can create significant barriers to work. Minister Sir Stephen Timms confirmed that these disability benefits need changing to improve the system.
