Dole demo site nominated for heritage list

The ancient Buddhist site of Sarnath, located in Varanasi, northern India, has been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. This significant location is where the Buddha delivered his first sermon. Separately, a site in Bexley Square, Salford, has been nominated for the heritage list. This location is historically notable as the place where approximately 10,000 people gathered in 1931 to protest against the means test, marking a pivotal moment in local social history.
