Translator Emily Wilson has renewed her criticism of Christopher Nolan's adaptation of The Odyssey. After previously branding the screenplay abysmal in the London Review Of Books, Wilson wrote a second piece for The Atlantic. She claims the film is emotionally empty, arguing that while Nolan insists on the importance of human kindness, the camera depicts entirely different values. This follows widespread critical praise for the star-studded movie, which was heavily inspired by Wilson's 2017 translation of the text.
