Enyd Williams obituary

Enyd Williams, a celebrated BBC radio drama director, has died of heart failure aged 83. She was renowned for serialising classic detective fiction, notably casting June Whitfield as Miss Marple in Agatha Christie adaptations. Additionally, historian Juliet Gardiner has died aged 82. Gardiner was recognised for her deep original research on mid-20th-century Britain, producing three major works including Wartime: Britain 1939-1945, which provided a panoramic narrative of the Home Front during the second world war.
