Former Newcastle backer Staveley eyes Gold stake in West Ham United

Amanda Staveley, the financier who previously supported the Newcastle United Football Club takeover with Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund, is negotiating to purchase a minority stake in West Ham United. The Championship club's former owner, David Gold, held a 25 per cent shareholding. Staveley and her partner have progressed towards buying this stake, valued at £150m, from Gold's daughter, Vanessa. This move follows Staveley's high-profile involvement in the ownership of other major English football teams.
