Harvesting is too dangerous during hot spell - farmer

Farmer John Sheppard has expressed concerns that his combine harvester could ignite fires within wheat fields during the current hot spell. Simultaneously, the MoD has implemented a firing ban at the Salisbury Plain Training Area due to the heat. This decision follows reports that 14 fires have already occurred within the military training zone so far this year, highlighting the significant risks posed by the prevailing weather conditions to both agriculture and military operations.
