The injury occurred two months ago during a Champions League match against Paris-Saint Germain, leaving the Frenchman in immense pain. Due to the severity of the injury sustained in April, Ekitike has missed out on the World Cup and remains sidelined, with his eventual return to the pitch at Anfield expected to take some time.
