'Life of the party' mum-of-three dies suddenly as son battles in vain to save her

Sophie Whitehurst, aged 33, died suddenly at her home in Meir, Stoke-on-Trent, on Saturday, 1 August. The mother of three, who left behind two teenagers and a baby, was pronounced dead by paramedics. Her young son made a desperate attempt to save her after she had gone for a nap.
