Liverpool issue bans as £1.2m seized from ticket touts

Liverpool FC and Merseyside police economic crime team collaborated in a first-of-its-kind Premier League operation to combat ticket touting. By analysing nearly 700,000 ticket registrations from last season, the investigation focused on the laundering of criminal proceeds. This joint effort resulted in the seizure of over £1.2m in assets linked to organised ticket touts. Consequently, the club has issued 432 lifetime bans to individuals involved in the illicit selling of tickets to secure the club's ticketing system.
