Major railcard rule change means 10,000s of people will get cheaper train tickets

Ministers have announced a common sense change to Railcard rules, enabling tens of thousands of youngsters to access cheaper train travel. The 16-17 Saver Railcards will now remain valid for a full year from the date of purchase. Previously, these cards expired once the holder turned 18. This extension ensures that thousands more students can benefit from half-price train tickets, providing a significant boost to young travellers across the rail network.
