Man and woman found dead in outback Queensland home after hours-long police siege

A 45-year-old man and a 23-year-old pregnant woman were found dead in a Charleville home in outback Queensland. The discovery followed a police siege lasting nearly eight hours after reports of a serious assault on Wednesday evening. Several streets in the town, located 600km west of Toowoomba, were placed under lockdown during the operation. A child was also found at the scene of the suspected murder-suicide, which ended in tragedy after the prolonged standoff.
