New Andy Burnham 31% basic tax rate proposed for people earning under £50,270

Bright Blue has proposed a series of income tax adjustments for Andy Burnham. The thinktank suggests introducing a 13pc band for individuals earning between £5,000 and £12,570. Furthermore, it recommends increasing the basic tax rate to 31 per cent for those earning under £50,270. Additional proposals include raising the higher rate to 48 per cent and the additional rate to 52 per cent to modify the current HMRC tax structure for the Labour Party government leader.
