Former police officer Shaun Elliott is on trial for assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The court heard that in December 2022, Elliott hit Kian Green, a vulnerable autistic man, over the head with a baton. The incident occurred at Buxton Police Station after Green had entered the premises seeking help. Jurors were informed that the attack caused Green observable terror during the course of the arrest, leading to the current legal proceedings against the officer.
