Old Tyne and Wear Metro train spotted after last official week of service

Nexus issued a statement after an old Tyne and Wear Metro train was spotted in service following its final official week of operation. Phil Watts, an engineer who helped develop the original fleet between 1969 and 1979, has returned to the region. His contributions helped Tyne and Wear Metro outperform other UK cities. Watts is now present to wave off the remaining class 599 trains as they conclude their long-standing service in the region.
