Pakistan restricts international media reporting

Pakistani authorities have imposed severe new restrictions on international media, barring them from reporting in most of the country. These rules, which provoked significant backlash from journalist organisations, require anyone working for foreign media, including Pakistani nationals, to seek permission to report from any location except for three cities: Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore. The measures came into effect shortly after the killing of dozens of protesters, an event covered only by overseas news outlets.
