Richard Johns obituary

Richard Johns, who died aged 96, was a pioneer of dental implantology. In 1991, he collaborated with Per-Ingvar Brånemark to establish the Dental Implant Institute in Sheffield, the first UK school for implant techniques and treatment. Paul Gerhardt, who died aged 77, worked in educational television, including as BBC head of commissioning for Open University content. He founded Archives for Creativity and concluded his career as the director of education at the British Film Institute.
