Saudi-led group completes $55bn purchase of gaming giant EA

Electronic Arts, the developer of The Sims, Madden NFL, and Battlefield, has been acquired by a Saudi-led group and investors for $55bn. The deal, involving Affinity Partners run by Jared Kushner, was completed on Tuesday following final regulatory approval from the EU. This transaction moves the gaming giant, which also produces EA FC, into private ownership. However, the acquisition process has resulted in the company being loaded with significant debt as part of the agreement.
