Teens to face social media curfew and no infinite scrolling - but can switch it off

The UK government proposes an overnight social media curfew and the disabling of addictive features, such as infinite scrolling, for sixteen and seventeen-year-olds. While these restrictions aim to curb usage, teens will retain the ability to opt out or switch the settings off. Consequently, campaigners and critics have labelled the measures as piecemeal, arguing that the option to bypass the restrictions means the plans will fail to achieve any significant impact on youth behaviour.
