TV tonight: Diane Morgan and Sue Johnston’s great new sitcom

Diane Morgan has created a new BBC One sitcom featuring a humanoid robot named Linda. The plot follows Sue, an elderly widow played by Sue Johnston, who receives an outdated care robot, Ann Droid, from her son after a fall. Despite her initial scepticism and spitefully renaming the robot after a hated sister, Sue undergoes a 48-hour trial. Additionally, training for a comedy scene in the series indirectly saved Strictly judge Shirley Ballas from choking.
